DMARehability is pleased to introduce our much anticipated multidisciplinary Functional Restoration Program. The program is six weeks in length with daily attendance required. Following much research on best practices and alternate chronic pain programs our focus is on management and coping skills rather than pain elimination.
Program Modalities:
Interdisciplinary initial assessment – medical, functional, vocational, behavioural, psychosocial
Education – anatomy, hurt vs. harm, body mechanics, stress and anger management, effective communication
Cognitive behavioural counselling – awareness, self reflection, positive self statements
Biofeedback – EMG surface unit to objectively assess and monitor benefits of treatment modalities
Relaxation Therapy – autogenic, visualization and integration into functional activities
Goal Setting – setting of appropriate attainable goals, short and long term , tracking of daily activities
Exercise Therapy - land and pool programming
Vocational Programming – RTW, job readiness, job placement

Inclusion Criteria |
- Primary limiting factor in recovery is pain
- Dual diagnosis including musculoskeletal and psychological
- Commitment to program goals, individually determined outcomes and participation
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
- Fibromyalgia
