Hand & Upper Limb Assessment/Treatment
After meeting stringent requirements in clinical experience and successful completion of a written examination, Occupational Therapists may acquire credentials in Certified Hand Therapy. This designation is granted through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTTCC) of Missouri.
Complete assessment and treatment is provided for both acute and chronic conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Rotator Cuff and DeQuervain's Tendonitis. Post-surgical management of tendon and nerve lacerations, grafts or joint replacements is offered. Mobilization and functional restoration of the stiff hand or wrist is treated with a specialized focus.
These conditions can be managed with custom splinting, active and passive range of motion, strengthening, massage, ultrasound and other modalities. Individualized programs combined with ergonomic expertise address complex return to work situations.
Our certified Hand Therapists are equipped to provide these services in our clinics, employer worksites or at clients' homes.
