About
Paula earned her Masters of Science, Occupational Therapy from Queens University, Kingston Studies, King’s University College at the University of Western Ontario, in 2009. For the past six years Paula has worked as Manager of Rehabilitation Department, Revera Long Term Care (LTC), Mount Royal Care Centre, Calgary, AB. She and her husband and their son, Kingston, recently moved to the London area, where Paula is originally from.
Paula’s professional work experience has included assisting both the adult and pediatric population. She has in-depth knowledge and expertise assessing cognitive impairment, balance, assessment and prescription of wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility/assistive devices. Her work has continued to foster meaningful and productive relationships, with a holistic and client-centered approach to therapy, striving to work with the family unit as a cohesive team to achieve goals and attain success.
Her combined passion of caring for people and animals, has led her to become involved as a Therapy Dog Leader. In 2016, her black Labrador retriever, (Ash) and she earned certification as a Canine Assisted Intervention Team. Paula and Ash are currently part of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program, in London and will be commencing visits with the residents of Long Term Care Facilities. Paula is registered as a member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and a member with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
