About
Laura received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1997. She is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and with the Board of Occupational Therapists, Department of Community Health in the State of Michigan. Laura began her career working as a Staff Therapist at Botsford Hospital in Farmington, Michigan. She worked predominantly in the In-Patient Rehabilitation Unit treating multiple orthopaedic, surgical, medical and neurological conditions.
In 2000, Laura joined the Windsor DMARehability Team. Laura was responsible for the occupational therapy management of complex, psychiatric, ABI and catastrophic cases, with special emphasis on acute orthopaedic trauma, surgical cases, chronic/post 104-week cases and home modification/design. Laura has continued to advance her clinical knowledge and training. She is a Certified KEY Method (Functional Abilities Evaluation) assessment specialist and she has advanced training and education with respect Driving Rehabilitation and Vehicle Modification.
In 2014, Laura departed DMARehability to take on a new challenge working for a large Personal Injury Law Firm in Windsor. After a 5 year hiatus, Laura is returning to DMARehability, in an exciting new role as Director of Quality Clinical and Client Services. Laura will be completing file reviews and assisting our staff in progressing files beyond their clinical area. She will look at OCF18 denials, and act as a liaison in connecting with insurers to reduce client IEs. Her role is unique, and with her strong clinical background as an OT, we believe this will further enhance the rehabilitative care we provide to injured individuals.
