About
Monica Baldassarre graduated from The University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science (BSc), Honours Specialization in Kinesiology. Monica is a member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO).
Monica gained valuable experience working as an On-Field Therapist where she evaluated and managed a wide variety of on-field injuries that athletes sustain during play, referring to Emergency Room or clinic as necessary. She also implemented on-field modalities to assist athletes to return to play safely and in a timely fashion.
Monica’s experience as an Assistant Coach afforded her the ability to encourage and direct athletes to boost athletic abilities and team cooperation. Through her practicum placement at DMARehability, Monica had the opportunity to assist paediatric, youth and adult populations with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and musculoskeletal injuries, to improve their daily functional abilities.
In her role as a Registered Kinesiologist, Monica will provide hands-on assistance for physical therapy related interventions and direct and monitor exercise programs. Monica will also assist in the facilitation and transition of seriously injured individuals into the community, and to
implement and reinforce compensatory strategies to encourage independence in activities of daily living.
