Monique is a qualified medical social worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from King’s University College UWO, 1985 and a Masters of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University Waterloo, 1986.
Monique has 27 years of Public Education experience providing Individual, Group, Family Counselling, Crisis Intervention and Grief Counselling. She has demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills. As a student advocate, she has counselled students to develop skills of self-advocacy and capacity building. Monique is also trained in Trauma and Loss in Children, Violent Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and certified as an ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and TLC (Talking & Listening to Children) therapist.
