About
Wendy Laskey has successfully completed her
Master of Science in Physical Therapy, and Bachelor of Arts, Honours Specialization in Kinesiology with Distinction with a Minor in Rehabilitation Sciences. While practicing as a Physiotherapist, she has continued to pursue academic courses further enhancing her skills as a Physiotherapist, including: American Spinal Injury Association International & Autonomic Standards Training, NDT: Practical Intervention Strategies to Develop Perceptual Awareness, Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Comprehensive Introduction, CANN: Visual Challenges in Neuroscience Patients and Level 2 Ekso Certification.
Her practice to date has focused on assessing and treating clients with spinal cord injuries and she developed expertise in successfully treating patients with significant central sensitization. Wendy gained valuable experience providing inpatient physiotherapy services to patients recovering from stroke and other neurological injuries at Parkwood Hospital including the comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program (CORP). She also has experience assessing and treating clients with acquired brain injury, cardiorespiratory impairments and complex or acute medical statuses.
As well as her clinical practice, Wendy taught at Western University Master of Physical Therapy Program. She developed and led interactive clinical labs and case-based discussions for physiotherapy students as part of the Physical Therapy in Rehabilitation Settings.
